It’s been a while; I mean a very long “while” since I last posted anything on this blog. I must admit that I almost forgot this link. I became busy as hell in the past few months. I had liked a lot of new hobbies, new things to explore, and new people to meet… and there goes the long list. As of this very moment I just feel like there are a lot of things I want to share with you all. That amazing feeling of screaming what’s inside of you in a vast scope.

I have a lot of plan on this blog and as of now I am planning something great, something big. Hopefully I can re-create or redesign this blog into something that’s lurking in my head as I imagining it.

I really cant believe or what had happened on me tonight? Its very weird that i tried to create a blogpost without even a certain topic to discussed. Did i miss blogging? Ive decided alot of times to leave this thing that once made me addicted to it. Well, since i am here, what should i say? You might just say, "who the h*ck are you? As if we care if you came back!" well, i dont really care. For this past months i tried to make up with my life professionally, i tried to find a job, and yes, i find one. I am working at one of the prime banks at ayala makati. So far so good on the first few months but, it seems that the longer i stay there, the sadder i become. My salary figures are above average for an entry level, but, as i remembered from one of my boss where i conducted my on the job training : "always remember jeromeskie ( hell yeah! Thats what theyre used to call me!) hapiness is far valuable than money! Now im in the crossroads, trying to find the right path for me, i should follow my heart. Thanks for reading another nonsense entry, i must admit that i am a epic fail blogger for having not posted a single blogpost for about 3 months now, but i believe that theres no such thing as being late in anything! Its 11:15pm now on my clock, i should be sleeping now, and having some rest, its a monday tomorrow and i know a pile of work is waiting for me with a smile. God bless us all.

Hi everyone, its been a while since i made my last post ( yeah! a matter of 3 months, now that's embarrassing.). I became busy on the past months focusing on my studies. Its been a 3 stressful months full of sleepless thesis sessions and compilations of works; not to mention our major exams and other co-curricular activities. Luckily, I it all comes to an end and I am ready again to continue my blogging this coming days, months or years maybe.

A lot of things happened and I am quite proud to inform everyone that I will finally be graduating on my BS degree this coming April 15. (smiles!)

Baguio Adventure

Here are the pictures we've taken on BAGUIO, PHILIPPINES last December as part of our seminar conducted there at the Brentwood Apartelle. Pictures was taken via my mobile (Nokia 5300 xpressmusic) some were taken with a true camera.

Anyway, I am quite busy this past 2 days for I was still making final touches on the first two chapters of my thesis as part of my graduation requirement. I have 2 sleepless nights with my classmates making my laptop work 24 hours, I also used it as my pillow sometimes.(lol) I fail to post more often but I promise to be back soon.

Things that took place last month.

Hi everyone, it was a very cold night here at Manila, Philippines which makes me reminisce the crazy moments we have on session road and Baguio Public Market last month with my classmates during our seminar there. The fog was crazy and the cold was blistering. One thing I will never forget are the cool taxi drivers there, which was really cool, honest and helpful (a big difference on what we have here at manila ^^). I saw a lot of sceneries that I only seeing in TV before like the Mines View Park, Strawberry Farm, Baguio Public Market, SM Baguio, Burnham park and a whole lot more.

I have spent my Christmas and New Year at Mindoro with my family which really made me smile and prepared me to face the coming year with a bang! I can’t describe the feeling but there is a feeling that overflowing on me every time I come home during holiday season.

M/V CATALIN B – the ship which sunk on the coast of Cavite on Christmas Eve that left 7 confirmed deaths and 24 more missing. I will never forget this ship my whole life since I rode the same ship not just once but twice, good thing it still not my time. I can’t imagine myself drowning inside a small wooden ship and can’t find my way out, but to supper on helplessness and hypothermia. (Scary!)

I just went back here at Manila last January 7, 2010; yep! School already started and I am already absent for 3 days. (Dang!) I am back to reality, back to being a normal student at school, waking up early; getting my things fixed all be myself, and living the life away from my family. I hope this year be the best year for me and for everyone. Have a great day...

Hi everyone. Its been so long since i have last posted something in here, and I got to tell you that Ive miss it so much. Anyway there is nothing new on me, but just making myself ready today for a three day seminar tour at BAGUIO, Philippines. Gonna pack my things up before I end up cramming again that was my usual personal vertigo.

FORMSPRING

The site idea is to ask random questions on each other. And when I say "ANYTHING" its anything (lol). I was astonished that the links of this site was scattered on the feeds of the people i follow on my twitter dashboard. To make the story short, Ive created one. Good day. It was a rest day for me since PASAY was celebrating its CITY DAY. Making it short we didnt have classes today. Yes! Opportunity for me to rest, have some sleep and chill my tired head and muscles for a while considering that I worked hard on this past weeks.

Last week I’ve successfully collected all of my class cards and for all who anticipated for my grades here is your opportunity. Even though I am not quite sure if it will make an impression or will just simply raise your eyebrow as your mouth says :( that pathetic trying hard having the guts to post his grades on the web! The hell was wrong with him?).
Well anyway here it is.

Let me have the chance to analyze my grades. AUTOMATA, PROBSTAT and COMP 411 (Artificial Intelligence) are my lowest scores for the past semester. And I want to say (wait, let me shout it) that I didn’t deserve receiving such grades. I don’t want to elaborate or tell the whole story behind those awful grades but it happened already and I can no longer do anything about it. The good thing is I am not yet receiving a grade lower that 2.50 since my freshmen years. (My classmates use to tell me that I have a strong chance to be a cum laude or whatsoever! But I just don’t mind those things now).

Take note of the THESIS grade which is 1.25. Yeah I got the highest among others. I impressed my professor on my wild thesis conceptualization. They find it good and interesting and they offer full support for the success of the project itself. I don’t know but they really find something good in me which I personally didn’t know was there. Weird!

I hope I’ll be one of those people who will be marching in March in full colors, receiving my diploma and eventually landing on a good job as I’ve always planned on my dreams. we'll thats still 3 months from now.

I must admit that I really have a big crush on YURI TAG of KABBA MODERN crew (blushes!), Shes definitely a good dancer, and stunningly beautiful. (Dang!, what am I talking about?)

I was stunned upon seeing this video on youtube. I cant believe it, YURI TAG, the beautiful korean girl of KABBA MODERN crew, who won 2nd on ABDC season 1, likes Pinoy Foods.

Election on the Philippines still a big Crap.

Just as much as saying, Christmas is in the air, we could also feel the presence of politics everywhere. Now our televisions sets are conquered by "infomercials" which shows candidates of different political parties, showing great things they did to other people. (applause... Applause!). Call me a "nega" but I really hate the way politics goes here in the Philippines. The way I see it, I can see all the components being broken or shattered all throughout.

VOTERS... CANDIDATES... ELECTION PROCESS

let me analyze this three great factors in my "inexpert" view or simple perspective.

the VOTERS - This is "WE, US, YOU, ME"... considered the most important. And yet the factor I also considered having the most weak foundations of the three. I usually don't understand the way how age change people's way of thinking. If we will just try to look back, we can say that we are more effective when it comes to voting during our early elementary years. (Teacher! I nominate blah... blah... blah...! then comes laughter and applause.). Less evil, very pure, and innocent, though sometimes, unwise.

To qualify for voting on the nationals, you should be at least 18 year old, if that so, should it be we are supposed to expect a more quality decision since we grew already? Its similar to a plant which we are to expect to grew into a more productive tree. But, why the manifestations or scenarios were experiencing when national elections come, seems a big contrary to that simple ideology.

the CANDIDATES - they're the people who chosen to stand and lead, some say they are the people who chosen to be more powerful or person who needs to satisfy their hunger for power and wealth. But whatever they are to be introduced in our minds, still we have the power to choose. Maybe its the qualifications is to be blamed. We should swallow the distasteful truth that if you are a certified Filipino and knows how to read and write, you can easily qualify as a candidate on the highest position on the country. (maybe my dream of two candidates ONLY battle ala' MCCAIN-OBAMA, will be forever a dream.) Is it only coincidence that we are always choosing a wrong person every 6 years since ERAP? how unlucky.

ELECTION PROCESS itself - the 2010 elections will show a different election process on every Filipino. Yes, it'll be automated, the long debate about its implementation was finally put into end. The only question is, are we ready for it? Are we aware of the extent the certain machine is capable of doing? Dont be surprised if the result manipulation will be digital also. (lol).

I hope I did something good this afternoon where i didn't have enough things to do. Call me a negative guy but I was just thinking that no matter how many elections come it'll always be the same process.

ELECTION - VOTE - CANDIDATE WON - CORRUPTION DISCOVERY - IMPEACHMENT - EDSA REVOLUTION/ COUP ATTEMPTS - CASE be FORGOTTEN.

should the Filipino make a stand this time and choose whats right? Its up to you... I mean to us. Have a great day.

Magandang gabi sa lahat na medyo umaambon at inaasahang magiging maulan pa. (did it messed up?). Wala akong maisip ipost nitong mga nagdaang araw. Wala namang bagong balita sa akin ng interesante, maliban sa pag-fail kong magparehistro sa darating na eleksyon (Ive been feeling somewhat useless, darrnn...). Pero ok lang yun nangyare na eh.

Anyway, I wanna share something thats captivated my mind and ease my boredome for the past week, After ng ilang months na pagtigil, Im back on reading novels at ngayon binabasa ko ang "THE LOST SYMBOL" ni DAN BROWN, maaring pamilyar sayo ang pangalan, OO! siya nga ang awtor ng mga sikat at Best Seller na "THE DA VINCI CODE" at "ANGELS AND DEMONS", (pareho ko nang nabasa ang mga to), as usual nakakaintriga na naman ang istorya, at talagang page turner na maituturing. I really admire Dan Brown, hes a natural born genius when comes sa crafting great stories na my twist at misteryo. Sa ngayon ay nasa Chapter 22 na ako. At unti unti na nitong pinupuyat ang aking gabi. Goodluck saken.

Talking about Music naman nadiscover ko rin ang galing ng "OWL CITY" (discovered via mp3-codes.com top 10 downloaded) at "MOTION CITY SOUNTRACK" (discovered accidentally sa youtube) ang galing nila pareho. Trust me... They worth my few hours of googling for their albums at eventually pagdownload.

Alam ko waste of time ang ginawa mong pagbasa sa post na ito pero salamat na rin. Pwede kang magcomment kung gusto mo.. It'll be great to hear from you.

Will Santa give me my IPHONE?

Nakakapagod ang araw na ito. Ako ay nakaranas ng isa na namang normal na senaryo sa buhay ng isang college student dito sa Pilipinas sa aking mumurahing kolehiyo ng Eyronotiko (Aeronautics). Ang mahabang pila ng mga estudyanteng magpapaenroll ay normal na sa aking paningin tuwing sasapit ang mga ganitong pagkakataon.

Maiba naman tayo, kahapon sa isang lokal na diaryo nakakita na naman ako ng isang larawan ng pinakakamimithi ko ngayong pasko ang "IPHONE" (kung sino man ang nais magregalo sa akin? malugod ko itong tatanggapin) ahahaha. Nakakatuwa kasi ang nagiging reaksiyon ko tuwing makakakita ako ng larawan nito. Minsan nga sa isang mall dito sa Pilipinas kasama ko ang mga klasmeyt ko. Napadaan kami sa POWERMAC boutique, hindi ko napigilan ang aking sarili, sa madaling salita pumasok kami, andameng mga interesanteng bagay at gadgets na tiyak nanaiisin mong bilhin or much more papangaraping mapasaiyo. MACBOOK, MACBOOK AIR, IMAC, HEADSETS (scull candy brand in particular), ibat-ibang ipod at syempre ang IPHONE at ITOUCH. wheeewww halos limang beses ko nang hinihimas ang salamin ngunit sa huli sinabi ko lang ulit ang regular statement ko na "Babalikan kita dyan!". (ahaha).

May nakilala akong tao sa isang social networking site ng mga katulad kong bloggers, mabait siya at very formal looking, ika nga kagalang-galang. Sa ilang oras naming nagkwentuhan, napansin kong may sense of humor siya at makulit din. Naitanong ko sa kaniya ang presyo ng iphone doon (canada). At napansin kong mas mura nga ito, tulad na rin ng sinabi sa akin ng mga kaklase ko. (e anu kung mura? may pambili ka ba?). Dahil sa labis kong kakulitan, who would guess na nagparamdam siya sa akin na bibigyan niya ako, though he also confirmed its not a promise. My eyes widened and my mouth shows a big OMG! , Anyway its the thought that counts ika nga. hehehe... Well see if hell be my Santa this coming christmas. Inggit kayo no?

Magandang umaga. Katatapos ko lang mag check mga email updates ko at siyempre mag facebook kung saan ako ay medyo naaadik na.

Matagal ko na tong pinag iisipan; ang pagapapalit ng "lenguwahe" o salitang ginagamit sa pagpopost dito sa aking blog, hindi dahil nauubos na ang tissue sa aming bahay sa kadudugo ng aking ilong tuwing mag e-english, hindi rin dahil sa uso ngayon ang magpaka-pinoy to the extreme ika nga, kundi marahil gusto kong medyo maiba naman. Ako ay nag ba-blog na nang mahigit 2 taon na at hindi ko alam kung may mga progress ba akong nagagawa. Wala na siguro akong pakialam, basta nagagawa kong mag-express ng aking sarili sa mas malawak ng scope, at may mga tao akong napapasaya or somewhat napapa-smile sa aking mga istorya, kalokohan, experiences... masaya na din ako.(hehe) Akin kaseng napansin na medyo maganda kung medyo ire-revolutionized natin ang ibang bagay. Ika nga, "everthing is subject to change" (naks!)kaya eto't nagpost ako ng tagalog na napapansin kong medyo magulo.(wheeeeewww.. ang hirap pala.) Sinasabayan ko kase ng pag popost ng updates sa twitter ang pagbuo ng blogpost na ito.

Sounds that rercently made a massive wave on my head

I am a typical music lover and I cant help but to search for new musics on the internet. I am a regular "music downloading" guy on the torrent, limewire and all the sites that offers free music stream or download. I am not a guy who enjoy musics from the mainstreams, I am more on the underground music.

these are the bands who recently made my cellphone really gone wild. I really get hooked on downloading the whole album instead of a certain song only. I don't know but, maybe it is my personal way of hearing the band in a more intense perspective. . My personal point is, you cannot gauge a certain artist skill with just a single song.

anyway, going back here are some of the artist which I beloved recently..

1.ALL TIME LOW..
-This band really rocks. They really have catchy beats on their songs and all their band members are really good. It was like everything was perfect... the vocals was intense, the base, drums and lead was phenomenal.. Pure skill. I have their "nothing personal" , and "so wrong its right" album..

this was my personal pick as their best live performance..

2.FOREVER THE SICKEST KIDS
- when I first heard one of their songs "SHES A LADY". It just made me say " I am going to bet their album no matter what." . I really love all their songs. Especially the following songs "SHES A LADY", "THE WAY", etc.. < I mean All of them>

3. FAREWELL
- I just discovered this band accidentally 2 days ago. I was in search for a new album of FTSK on youtube when the search result offered me one of their videos as results. Im now 19 year old and a lot of things happened on me. Its really cool meeting people and having friends all over around you. <gosh i am loosing the topic> Sorry for that. I was just feeling really good this day with the reason I still dont know. This day I will reveal some of ultimate celebrity crushes <psssttt...>. I also didnt know why Ill be posting this but all I could say is, "who cares"? . Here are they anyway.

first on my list is Hayden Penettiere. I've seen her first as the indestructible cheerleader on HEROES tv series . This blond was really awesome and really beautiful. As far as I know she was 20 years old now, and she have a new movie entitled "I love you miss beth cooper".<i am failing to watch it because of my busy schedule>

Ariel Lin, One word to describe this girl is "cute". Korean, Taiwanese looks really turns me on. I first saw her on "It started with a kiss" tv show which was aired here at the Philippines several years ago. I just love it when she make her pout face. It will melt you "literally". (lol)

Taylor Swift, This girl really turns me on. Not just because of her irresistable looks but because of her voice. Her song "white horse" just became my lullaby throughout the night. When i heard of the news about the idiotic acts of Kanye West on her during the MTV awards, I just got pissed. Poor Taylor.

Oops, I barely notice the time. I was suppposed to be on my way to school now. <geez! Im late>. There they are. I really have more, but I think they're the one who made it on the top 3 spot.

A lot of Filipinos are switching now to facebook, will this be the end of Friendster domination in the Philippines. I, myself personally getting hooked with a lot of social networking sites ( facebook, myspace, multiply, friendster... etc. name it.) I find it really cool and amazing how communication grows in such a fast paced rate. Going back to Facebook, a lot of users have observed a great change and development on its interface not to mention its interactive features that will just make you end up saying “wow”. Who can deny the amount of excitement as you play your avatar on Farmville, pet society, and yoville? Facebook team just discovered how to tickle its users by offering them more entertainment without disregarding its real purpose. I dragged myself inside and enjoy the DIMSUMS they are serving with a very special rice (Does anyone know what they are mixing with their rice that it was so delicious?).

Its been a busy week for me. I have done a lot of things and my mind is set for work that will come along for the coming weeks. We should put all the blames on my thesis which is a requirement for every "graduating students" here at the Philippines. Yes, you've heard it right, few months from now I will be graduating in my BS degree (isn't it great?). My Aunts used to teased me sometimes saying: "at last jerome after 4 years of struggle you'll finally grasp the fruit of your perseverance's, your legacy will soon emerge, and you'll finally be a member of the UNEMPLOYED CITIZENS of our republic." (isn't it motivating? eerrr!).

Going back to my thesis, It was really challenging regardless of the amount of effort and ideas it requires. I know I have a lot of capabilities when it comes on thinking and idea creation, not to mention the strategies and statistical method we will be using on the entire scope of the study. Since my course or field is aviation relevant or should i say more on Airline Operations and Procedures, Our professor required us to create, investigate, or develop a system on a certain Airline firm and apply some IT application on it. It was really hard at first but it all goes smooth so far. (lucky me!)

How about you? have you finished on your homework? I would like to thank all of those people who are constantly reading my blog regardless of the fact that I didn't even know them.(keep coming!)

It was really awesome to look at those beautiful blogs who won last year. the designs were great and most importantly the postings were really captivating. I wanna be just like them in so near future. My time will come soon so beware (so i wish, hehe). Their style of writing were just simple yet they are receiving a lot of comments in a particular post. Ive been blogging for almost 3 years on and off (isn't it great?), and all I could say is I am so happy realizing that I was engaged in such a great work. A cyberspace hobby of posting random thoughts and notable experience in a large span of readers around the globe.

A GLIMPSE ON MY PAST

It was really hard for me at my early years since I didn't have any experience or even a mentor to guide me on my blogging struggle. At the start it was like "talking to a wall experience" or relatively shouting something in the air so loud and no one ever get a single attention on you. (hehe!) But fortunately, after few years it all goes well. Ive learned a lot now and met a lot of good bloggers, foreign and local. Luckily they teach me some tricks and shared some experiences. I know their thousand steps away from me now since I am not still considering myself a "pro" in the industry, the eagerness to be just like them is still inside of my head.

PLANS...

Ive heard a lot of stories about bloggers who successfully reached the peak of their blog monetizing career, and i cant help myself to ask "howd they do that?". Imagine a person just in the house sitting in front of his desktop or laptop and just doing the same thing as I do earning $350 - $500 a month, not to mention his paid postings that could make earnings of up to $200 a month. To sum it all up, or generally speaking, that's a lot of money.

It will take a lot of time before I reach that peak their saying but as long as my readers appreciate my posts and thoughts, whether my adsense account doesn't suffice my targeted earnings (hehehe!), it doesnt matter. I'll just continue to blog anyway.

New Look For My Blog.

I am still working on my blog template today. I downloaded a lot of templates on the internet to give my blog new skin for itself, and I am so happy so far on the outcome.

I was just adjusting my widget sizes because it was a little bit stiff this time around as I observed it. I still chosen the three columned blog template for it was the template I am so comfortable to work with.

Hope that it will be a good looking blog after a day or a week maybe of xml manipulation.

FAKE akomismo Dogtags!

I was a certified member of (AKOMISMO.org).I saw its cool commercial on the TV last summer vacation, and decided to sign-up for membership. I know a lot of people will join this campaign for its very unique purpose of making each Filipino do something for themselves, for someone, and more over for their country. One thing to mark the members is the so called AKOMISMO dogtag. I received a lot of email notices that was sent to certified members inviting me to come at THE FORT located in Taguig City for a special event where they will also distribute the genuine tags. But, I wasnt be able to come to claim my dog tag because I am too busy with my paperwork's in school.

A lot of people wears the said dogtag today making it a fashion statement rather living its original worth. With the confusion still in my mind, I was just asking myself:" Is it genuine?, Where did they get those?". I just figured out myself that a lot of fake tags are available today also with the same price as the genuine.

In my own point of view, tags are not really necessary for the AKOMISMO.org purpose. We just have to live the true meaning, goals, and vision of the site or the organization itself whether we are wearing those tags or not. We should always remember that action speaks louder than words. T_T

Ive seen the movie, and all I can give is a thumbs up for all who work hard for it. A must see! The graphics are way too cool and awesome. It was fantastic! I love the fact that a lot of characters are added to the second movie offer of Michael Bay. Action - Packed and really amazing.

iPhone Beware! Nokia 5800 xpressmusic is here!

I was stunned by this news from yahoo. About the debut release of the Nokia's iphone like phone. and I was amaze with its ton's of cool features. Here's the article...

Armed with a roomy touch display, stereo speakers, and—eventually—a year's worth of free music, Nokia's long-awaited touchscreen phone (formerly known as "The Tube") will make its debut in London today. Can it compete with the iPhone and T-Mobile's Google-powered G1?

First, let's cover the specs: Measuring 4.4 by 2 by 0.6 inches, the 3G- and Wi-Fi-enabled 5800 (set for global release by the end of the year, but not in North America until the "early part" of 2009) is more or less the same size as the iPhone 3G and the G1, although at 3.8 ounces, it's significantly lighter than both of its touchscreen competitors (the iPhone is about 4.8 ounces, while the G1 weighs in at a hefty 5.6 ounces).

So, how's the 5800's 3.2-inch touchscreeen? I haven't had a chance to try it in person, but the Symbian-powered display looks (from the press images, at least) reasonably sleek—somewhere between the clunkier interface on the G1 and the iPhone's eye-popping UI. No multitouch (so no "pinch"-type gestures), mind you, but the 5800 has an accelerometer that lets you turn the phone sideways for a virtual, landscape-oriented QWERTY keypad. You'll also be able to enter text using a half-size, portrait QWERTY keypad (with a stylus, if you like), T9 text prediction, or handwriting recognition.

Nokia promises a couple of key one-touch interface features, including a "Contacts Bar" that gives you quick access to your "favorite" four contacts, along with a "Media Bar" that'll let you tap into your music, videos, and images. Not bad, although I'd also like to see a status/alerts toolbar like the G1's.

As its name implies, the 5800 XpressMusic is more about tunes than productivity, so don't expect out-of-the-box support for BlackBerry or Exchange servers (although this being a Symbian phone, there's nothing stopping third parties from filling the void). Instead, the 5800 comes with stereo speakers, support for stereo Bluetooth headsets, a 3.5mm headset jack (which doubles as a TV-out port), and up to 16GB of microSD memeory expansion for your tunes.

The 5800 will also support Nokia's much-touted "Comes with Music" service, which will let you download all the free tunes you can stand—but just for 12 months, with a helping of DRM on the side. (CNET has details on all the restrictions right here.) Also, keep in mind that the cost of all those "free" tunes will be passed along via an inflated price tag for upcoming "Comes with Music" handsets (the Nokia N95 and 5310 XpressMusic phones will also be getting "Comes with Music" support), although Nokia reps didn't have details on how big the surcharge will be. Still, the music catalog looks to be pretty solid, with all four of the major labels (as well as some indies) signed on.

Back to the 5800 itself: The phone also comes with a 3.2MP camera, complete with Carl Zeiss optics, a dual LED flash, and video recording (up to 30fps). GPS and Nokia Maps are included for navigation. Sorry, gamers—no N-Gage support on the 5800, at least for now.

Nokia hasn't released U.S. pricing details—or carriers, if any—for the 5800 yet. (Since the 5800 is a GSM handset, it'll only work with GSM-based carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile.) In Europe, however, the phone (minus "Comes with Music," for now) will sell for 279 euros, or about US$385—not bad, considering the sky-high price tag of Nokia's N-series beauties.

How does the 5800 XpressMusic stack up with the iPhone and the G1? Well, hard to say until I see the phone itself in action—and especially whether the 5800's touch interface measures up to the two touch heavyweights.

My initial impression? I'm a bit underwhelmed, frankly; it's almost as if Nokia is wading cautiosly into the touchscreen pool with the 5800. What I'm really waiting for is a full-on, touchscreen Nseries handset, complete with a revamped interface designed specifically for touch. In any case, I'm reserving any final judgement until I get an actual unit in for review. (Update: Gizmodo just published a quick hands-on report, and so far, the touchscreen sounds pretty lackluster: "On the prototype we played with briefly, it's much harder to get touches to register, and far less accurate than the iPhone's capacitive screens. The 5800 packs a built-in stylus for this reason—you'll be using it a lot." Ouch.)

Cracking my head up with Geometry!

I was here at the library for almost an hour trying to solve a very perplexed geometrical equation that my geometry teacher gave me. It says that

if the angle from pt. 1 which is pt1. (-4,5) and pt.2 (x,9) to the line through
pt.3(-2,4)and Pt.4(9,1) is 135 degrees. Find the value of X.

I know this was a pretty basic mathematical equation at the first glance since it only requires to look for a certain point on the cartesian plane, but I must admit it. It cracked me up. I could say that i am not that poor in mathematics, as a matter of fact I got the highest scores on major exams on my Analytical geometry and differential calculus respectively on Preliminaries and Midterms.

I just did all I could. I try to derived the equation to solve for the slope which is M=(y2-y1)/x2-x1... and come up to the derived equation which is x2=(y2-y1/m)+x1. But no matter how I tried to test and proved the derived equation. it just come up to wrong answer. OK I give up!

But I just love mathematics and numbers so much...eventhough the subject seems to doesnt like me.

Ive been working on a new site, thats why I was gone a couple of weeks ago. It was a social networking site, I made for my fellow LUBANGenos. Lubang was my humble paradise Island located above OCC. MINDORO, Philippines. You can check the site here.

Nothing beats a pizza with a splash of some cola with your friends. I have a very memorable first semester during my third year. Even some of my past old friends are gone already to track the path of their live's. I was never been so sad at all. Ive met a lot of new friends, a lot of good friends. Everyday was such a memorable experience. Ive learned a lot from them...

Ive learned how to drink.. ( though we are calling it KAMPAY sessions). It really makes me happy to see everyone open in all ways and see them all laughing, singing, tripping after a very stressful night full of paperwork's and test. I drink but I am not that kind of drinker who is like a walking idiot on the way home.

During the Linggo ng Wika ( Week Of Philippine Language) Everyone is wearing the traditional Barong. I am the one who is wearing green. I am not yet changing on that picture.

Death Note

Cheers! Its been raining cats and dogs here at the Philippines (). Naturally, we will have nothing to do, but just to sit and disappointedly watch those little drops from heaven pour into the ground. I together with my co-officer of our department agreed and come up to the idea of watching a movie, a minute later, our president is holding it. On the "pirated" version cover it reads "DEATH NOTE". Pretty creepy huh!, Honestly, Ive already heard of this movie but i always fail to watch it, maybe because I was just too busy with my studies ( is that true? ), and somehow, there are a lot of more exciting things to do than to just sit down on your couch and watch until you get sleepy. (playing dota, reading, etc... ). Here is a short view of the story. ( you should watch this... trust me!).

The series is about Light Yagami, an extremely intelligent young man who resents the crime and corruption in the world. His life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground. The Death Note's instructions claim that if a human's name is written within it, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, Light realizes that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the New World" by passing his judgement on those he deems to be evil or who get in his way.
Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" ( "Kira"? derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the word "killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins.

Written rules
Before dropping the Death Note in the human world, Ryuk wrote five of the most basic rules on the Note's inside front cover. He chose to write the rules in English because he believed it to be the most popular human language. Those rules are as follows:

The human whose name is written in this note shall die. (now thats scary... )

This note will not take effect unless the writer has the subject's face in their mind when writing his/her name.

Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.

If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the subject's name, it will happen.

If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of a heart attack.

After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
In addition to these basic rules, many manga chapters have a title page, and many anime episodes have two eyecatches, containing several rules written in both English and Japanese. These rules often serve to clarify the more esoteric uses of the Death Note that the characters discover on their own, and usually pertain to the chapter or episode that they accompany. Official Death Notes contain over 40 pages listing these rules.

I really love the storyline of the movie, especially the character portrayed by L Lawliet as the a wierd semi- psychotic, guy who only loves to eat, and of course the walking nemesis of the person who ows the death note, "light".

I saw this idea on a lot of blog on the internet and on other blogger social networking sites. I started searching for that cute little creature to make my blog more lively and fun. I am not a copycat, I was just amazed with the idea ( and so ok! I admit it I copied the idea!) One normal day, As I was searching for interesting stuff to be blogged, I was stucked and find myself looking at this cute little dark white thing with a huge head. I find myself in a deep admiration I have a dark smile and my face is glowing ( whaaat? ). And so, starting this day, Ms.Captain Underpants ( that was her name according to the site) will be the unofficial mascot of "Lifes Like That!" I just love the cute emotions of this little character I saw in Photobucket. Expect to see a lot of Ms. Captain Underpants in my posts.

At last Ive done working on my assignment on my literature subject. I decided to blog hop for a while to see some cool blogs to admire. I saw the top 10 most influencial blogs on the Philippines.
It makes me wonder, can I be on the list for the coming years of my blogging career? or will I still be remaining on the shadows of blogging nowhere? (arrrggg! ) My hopes are not still up. I know that One of these days (or years maybe?). My blog Life like that! will be recognize by such blogging communities here at my country. Though It have been a bad moment for the Filipino athletes who goes to Beijing for the Olympics. I would still give the a Two thumbs up and I am so proud of them. On the other hand heres a story Ive read earlier on Foxnews.com about a american swimmer who dived in history for winning 8 olympic gold medal at the recent Beijing Olympic Games 2008.

That was a superb Performance.

Michael Phelps locked arms with his three teammates, as though they were in a football huddle calling a play, then hugged each one of them.
It took a team to make him the grandest of Olympic champions. And one last big push from Phelps himself.
Going hard right to the end of a mesmerizing nine days in Beijing, Phelps helped the Americans come from behind Sunday in a race they've never lost at the Olympics, cheering from the deck as Jason Lezak brought it home for a world record in the 400-meter medley relay. It was Phelps' history-making eighth gold medal of these games.
"Everything was accomplished," he said. "I will have the medals forever."
Phelps sure did his part to win No. 8, eclipsing Mark Spitz's seven-gold performance at the 1972 Munich Games.

The Beijing Olympics has witnessed the greatest Olympian of all time — Michael Phelps of the USA," the announcer said as Phelps posed with his teammates.
The Americans still had to wait a couple of tantalizing minutes for the official results to be posted. Finally, it flashed on the board.

Phelps won some races by ridiculously large margins, others with the closest of finishes — most memorably, his seventh gold by one-hundredth of a second over Serbia's Milorad Cavic in the 100 fly. Along the way, he became the winningest Olympian ever and left China with 14 career golds — five more than anyone else with at least one more Olympics to go.
"It's been nothing but an upwards roller-coaster and it's been nothing but fun," Phelps said.
Ditto for Dara Torres, who capped her improbable comeback with two more silver medals, missing gold by one hundredth of a second in the 50 freestyle.
The 41-year-old Torres, a five-time Olympian and the oldest American swimmer ever, also anchored the American women to a runner-up finish in the 400 medley relay. She got silver in all three of her races in Beijing, giving her 12 medals in a remarkable career that began at the 1984 Los Angeles Games — a year before Phelps was even born.
Surely this is the end.
Then again, never count Torres out — she'll only be 45 for the London Games.
"I go home extremely thrilled," said Torres, who also made sure to mention her ailing coach.
Michael Lohberg is battling a rare, potentially fatal blood disease and couldn't travel to Beijing.
"I wouldn't be here without Michael," Torres said.
Germany's Britta Steffen nipped Torres at the wall to complete a sweep of the women's sprint events in Beijing. The middle-aged American smiled, her head dropping back, when she saw a time of 24.07 — just behind Steffen's winning effort of 24.06. The German added to her gold in the 100 free.
Torres received her silver, then hustled back to the locker room to grab her cap and a pair of old-fashioned goggles that were probably older than some of her teammates. She was trailing as she took the anchor leg and couldn't catch Libby Trickett on a frantic sprint to the wall, with China claiming the bronze.
Still, not bad considering she had retired a second time after the 2000 Sydney Games, then got the urge to compete again after having her first child two years ago. Not content swimming in the old-timers' division, she set out to prove that age is only a number.
Consider that point made.
Torres got off to a good start in the 50 and appeared to be leading midway through the race, a frenetic sprint from one end of the pool to the other.
As they came to the wall, Torres and Steffen were stroke for stroke. The German reached out with her left hand and Torres stretched with her right. Steffen's fingertip got there first.
Completing a race for all ages, 16-year-old Australian Cate Campbell earned the bronze in 24.17.
Australia's relay women — Emily Seebohm, Leisel Jones, Jess Schipper and Libby Trickett — took the gold with a world record of 3:52.69. The Americans claimed silver with the second-fastest time in history, 3:53.30, while China took the bronze.
Torres was joined on the U.S. team by Natalie Coughlin, Rebecca Soni and Christine Magnuson. Coughlin received her sixth medal of the games, giving her 11 in her career.
Hackett failed to become the first man to win the same event at three straight Olympics.
The Aussie was upset in swimming's version of the mile by Ous Mellouli, who won Tunisia's first Olympic gold at the pool in 14:40.84.
"It's like 90 yards of a touchdown. It was so close, but I didn't have much of a response," Hackett said. "It's disappointing I didn't win. I have no regrets, it certainly was a close race."
Mellouli held off Hackett in the closing meters of the grueling race, swimming's version of the mile. Hackett earned the silver in 14:41.53, well off his 7-year-old world record of 14:34.56.
"He's never hung on like that in the past," Hackett said of the winner. "He was the better competitor."
Mellouli, who trains in Southern California, was coming off a suspension after testing positive for amphetamines.
Ryan Cochrane of Canada took the bronze in 14:42.69.
After receiving his eighth gold, Phelps received another award from FINA, the sport's governing body, as the best swimmer of the meet.

From Basic tool to categorized It has all the things you want to put on your blog. To make it more attractive and at the same time interactive. Wow! This was a great leap and advantage for us as blogspot bloggers for we will never look to the other sites just to search for those cute little candy in the eyes (widgets) and be tangled in a series of HTML codes to be put on our respective blogs.

At last, PRELIMS is finally over. The long struggle for survival and supremacy (WHAT!?),had finally came to an end. Eternal peace will rise again on every college students mind.

End of every major exams was a huge relief , a little heaven on earth ("Aw!, seems like I was continually reinventing, because of my POETRY and LITERATURE subjects. hehe!)

Well, lets see what have I Achieve...

* Ive got the highest preliminaries examination score on my Differential Calculus and Analytic Geometry subjects.
("seems like I am more comfortable now dealing with numbers.")

* I was elected once again. Now as the PRO (Public Relations Officer) of the entire department of school.
("Formerly, I was the 2nd year overall representative way back in my sophomore year.")

*Ive learned a lot of things... More BLOGGING tricks, A little on HTML, XML, Macromedia Flash and Visual Basic.

*I also be able to perfect the ACTUAL/HANDS ON Preliminaries Exam on my C Programming Language Subject.

*I retained my scholarship on
(Lubang Looc International Scholarship)
(Governor's Scholarship Project)

But I had also a very disappointing experience. Like a worm on the apple.
It is that I got a 79.3 on my FILIPINO subject, simply because, I didn't pass my notebook which is required to be submitted. But, thats OK. I will be more careful next time, and promise to work harder.

July 18, 2008 Quake prediction failed.

The prediction that the Philippines will experience an earthquake has been going around in emails, text, and blogs for quite for the past few days. A certain Juseleeno Nobulega Daroose, a Brazilian teacher, predicted that on July 18, 2008 an earthquake of magnitude 8.1 will rock the Philippines.

I saw the Mini Series 10.5 last Saturday on Studio 23 and based on the plot, a scientist has predicted the possible location of the earthquake and it’s magnitude. The idea seemed plausible but a little Googling will lead you to several sites revealing factual errors of the series. According to Earthquakecountry.info, the magnitude of an earthquake is related to the length of the fault. In order to have a 10.5 magnitude quake, you have to have a fault that circles the Earth.

If we look at the Earthquake Map uploaded by Inquirer.net, it shows earthquakes recorded this year were not more than 6.9 magnitude. However, the Baguio earthquake on July 16, 1990 was a 7.5 magnitude on the Richter scale and so far it was considered to have cost the biggest destruction in the country. The largest so far recorded was 9.5 in Chile on May 22, 1960. So, this means a magnitude 8.1 is possible, could it possibly happen in the Philippines? I leave that to the scientists.

Director Renato Solidum Jr. of Phivolcs had earlier dismissed the prediction as a hoax saying “There is no basic science behind it.” According to the director, no science yet can determine the exact location and magnitude of an earthquake. So, what do we make out of the 4.5 magnitude earthquake felt in several parts of Luzon last Sunday night? The Philippines is in the earthquake belt after all, so this is quite normal and a magnitude 4.5 is still light.

Juseleeno Nobulega Daroose seemed to have a penchant for predicting disasters. If he has predicted the path taken by typhoon Frank then I might have full belief in his capacity. Anybody can freely claim to have predicted something. There’s predictions based on the ‘bolang kristal” then there’s predictions based on science. I opt to lean on the latter. Even scientists at Phivolcs with all their training and equipment could not predict an earthquake.

Others say we won’t lose anything if we believe and be prepared. Do we really have to hear a prediction of a disaster in order to be prepared? We are on the Pacific Ring of Fire, we are on the typhoon belt, we are on the earthquake belt. We don’t need predictions. Common sense would tell you to be careful and be prepared at ALL times.

On the other hand, if that giant quake will come, We should always be prepared.
We should always pray a lot and ask for divine safety from above. Let us always put in mind that nothing beat a prayer to god.

As I always heard from my favorite channel in cable tv. "the DISCOVERY CHANNEL"!, they always stresses that If a certain natural tragedy failed to take place, We should always put in mind that one day it will happen or come. There are a lot of tragedies scenario that revolves around our planet today. Many worst perspective that could lead to destruction. We are all aware about SOLAR STORMS, GIANT HURRICANES, SUPER TYPHOON, TSUNAMI, and the most recent the terrifying 8.1 magnitude quake that could end hundreds of thousands of lifes. As I stated above, We should always be prepared and pray.

I am not new in recieving reviews, I used to review blogs before, and I mean a lot. It was very interesting at first since many people replying at your call for those who wants a review, but as time goes by they come in great numbers that you'll find yourself alittle truoble and exhausted, so I quit. So, I tried to get a review for myself, I Inserted my link on the discussion panel and after a few days I have seen the review. I was stunned and suddenly voiceless the review of my blog. "Was this a joke?. No its not. My link is above the review. " Does the reviewer made a mistake?" . I dont know. But whether it is mine or not, I dont care. the fact is it suddenly boost my spirit to keep blogging. Somewhat I feel that my directions are'nt going nowhere. expect more on my blog.

This is my most precious and could I say my most active blog which I have kept and maintained for almost a year.Lifes Like That (jerometarriela.blogspot.com). It was my very first blog and I really love it. It has a very large amount of traffic and regular visitors. It also had a good pageranks and standings so far. But as I see blogspot is not that user friendly. Changing themes is like a tragedy. I almost destroyed it when I did such activity. And honestly, I could feel that I am starting to lost my eagerness if I stay.

I learned a lot of stuff in this blogging business, I became a member of many blogging communities and group and It feels great to know the fact that you are not alone and there are a lot of people somewhere in this world which was doing and enjoying the same thing you are doing. I get to know a lot of bloggers, a newbie, a pro, and peoples who are just fond of expressing their ideas in a more expandable way, THE BLOGGING WAY.

And so I created this blog which I am still thinking the title and the tagline. Im just wondering if a tagalog blog will make more traffic than the english one just like my past blog.

Honestly I was impressed with the features the wordpress offers than the blogger's. It has lots of cool widgets and a bunch of beautiful themes.

Now I am wondering, should I get back to zero and leave my past on blogspot?

Can anybody help me customize my blogger header? Honestly I am not liking it. The thing is, I want it to be like this... Honestly I am not that great in photo editing (adobe's) but i am willing to learn it. I know I should..

1. I want the blogger Image header be posted in center stretched evenly on my page header.
2. I want the Title and subtitle to be at it same position.
3. I also want to make my blogger header Image a little smaller in width.

They said I must manipulate the html codes of my blog template but I am afraid to do such things. Reason is, I am afraid that It will only make the thing worst. I just want a clear and assured procedure and I think I can fix it right away.

Whats up folks?...

I am blogging for almost 4 months and its very rewarding yet fulfilling. Ive seen a lot of blogs, and learned a lot from it, to develop myself as a blogger, much more as a person. I could also say that I am no longer a newbie when it comes to this industry. When I signed up to blogcatalog (blogcatlog.com) and be a member of it. Its really fun to realize the fact that you are interacting with your co-bloggers, and I am enjoying it. There you can start a discussion and promote your blog and even became a "BLOG ANALYST". I am talking about a certain person whom can analyze blogs and give comments and suugestion after a few minute visit. I tried to be one..
Many bloggers/ website builder post their blog/site URL on my discussion and the feedbacks are great so far. They said that my comments are great and justified. I am not a great yet professional blogger to do such things but its really nice to know that people trust me and my point of view.

The Joy of Graduating!

At last after 2 years of struggle I just pursued my associates degree in computer studies especialized in Airline Operation Procedure. Now, im planning to continue it to Bachelors degree. It is indeed true that parting is such a sweet sorrow. But one thing is for sure... We will still be here for one another!

I was at my hometown (Lubang, Occidental Mindoro) as of now, and it feels great to know that my little island above the big island of Mindoro has its internet connection already (You can Look at Wikimapia.com and you could also try Google earth for Island refence. LOL) . The good thing is, I can now access my blog even if Im far distance from Manila.

This time I wanna share my experience as a tutor on our annual SMC(stands for SCIENCE, MATH, COMPUTER) tutorial for my fellow youth here at "Lubang". It was such a great experience, as well as a great time for bonding and relaxation.

It was a 4 day experience full of joy and laughters. I was assigned to teach "PHYSICS" which is the lesson the upcoming seniors will be taking the moment the classes or the new school year start. Believe me it was pure hassle at the same time challenging! It was like Joining the popular game show on TV "Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5?"or could we say " Kakasa ka ba sa mga Highschool?" I have to review all the necessary lessons which I think will help my students a lot in the long run.
Physics has a wide variety of complicated lessons full of formulas, equations, numbers, arrggg! It was pure challenge to me.

So, the day started. I entered the room full of murmurs and noises. I tried to be more friendly during my arrival. Same scenario, I intruduced myself, they Inroduced theirselves, We get acquainted with eah other. And it feels great to know that they are friendly too and cooperate. I was aloted only an hour to teach on almost 40 students on my class. And I was so happy to know that they learned a lot from me.

My fellow scholars who attended the SMC tutorial '08 are Frecille Martinez (LLI Alumni President), Mark Cortez, Rizalyn Insigne, Carlene Aguilar, Raymond (EMO), Claire and Mark Paul Tabora. Non-Scholar volounteers are Zaldy Insigne (who's still with us in LOOC), Jessie Martinez (Ate fercille's Brother), and Fernie Martinez (Ate Frecille's very Shy sister). It was fulfilling to know that even we are low-numbered of scholar attendees, We had ended this great activity succesfully. I also want to thank my mothers on LOOC. Which extended their help, time and effort on us.

This was a two thumbs up on all the people behind this. The Sponsors, Vice Mayor Freddie Tesalona, Mrs. Patty Tesalona, Mr. George Maulion, LLICSA. May god bless us, God Bless LLI.

Its been a long time since entered this really cool world of blogging. I wanna thank my elementary classmate AJ (http://ajthedifference.blogspot.com) for giving me the Idea of this blogging stuff. I find it very interesting for writing is one of my passion since I was in High School.I started posting some of my compositions, writings, and articles on some of the topics I as wellas some other people loved to tackle most. One thing is for sure, "Im starting to love this stuff, Im craving to learn more to improve and I want to continue." I started to make my blog more interesting in the eye and more worth viewing. What is EMO anyway?....

Due to insisted public demand from my readers for this month we will go to tackle about “EMO”. (darrrnnn…) Let us try to understand what or how does a certain state of mind or could we say music genre became a public or image trend among teeners today. As I search for answers, I got stocked up at the wiki site (Wikipedia.org) and find the information’s very interesting and elaborate. Back to our main question or topic, What is EMO anyway?

Emo is a style of rock music which describes several independent variations of music with common stylistic roots. As such, use of the term has been the subject of much debate. In the mid-1980s, the term emo described a subgenre of hardcore punk which originated in the Washington, D.C. music scene. In later years, the term emocore, short for "emotive hardcore", was also used to describe the emotional performances of bands in the Washington, D.C. scene and some of the offshoot regional scenes such as Rites of Spring, Embrace, One Last Wish, Beefeater, Gray Matter, Fire Party, and later, Moss Icon. (In more recent years, the term "emotive hardcore" entered the lexicon to describe the period.)
Starting in the mid-1990s, the term emo began to refer to the indie scene that followed the influences of Fugazi, which itself was an offshoot of the first wave of emo. Bands including Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is the Reason had a more indie rock style of emo, more melodic and less chaotic. The so-called "indie emo" scene survived until the late 1990s, as many of the bands either disbanded or shifted to mainstream styles. As the remaining indie emo bands entered the mainstream, newer bands began to emulate the mainstream style. As a result, the term "emo" became a vaguely defined identifier rather than a specific genre of music.

Emo is also oftenly associated with a certain fashion. The term "emo" is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (sometimes with short-sleves) which often bear the names of rock bands (or other designed shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes (often old and beaten up) and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses. Emo fashion has changed with time. Early trends included straight, unparted hair (similar to that of Romulans and Vulcans in Star Trek), tightly fitting sweaters, button-down shirts, and work jackets. This fashion has at times been characterized as a fad.
In recent years the popular media has associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angsty. It is also associated with depression, self-injury, and suicide.

Yes Indeed, I am talking about this small bricky thing of colors which is in the rave on filipino kids and the kids at hearts nowadays. Ive seen it first on TV, being telecasts in a competition and the moment Ive seen the contestants making quick moves, of twist and turn on their "RUBIX". I felt a little bit excitement on me, and find myself saying, "hmm.. I wanna try that". At first, I encountered difficulties in solving this damn thing and proven it to myself that it is indeed mind buggling..(wheeewww). But after a few days Practice and a little help from my friends and some research on the web, I successfully solve the 3x3x3 rubix cube. yeah! Now I am averaging 2 minuites in solving the rubix, they said it is not bad for a beginner playing the rubix for not longer than a month. "yeah!"

after all this stressfull weeks of mind torturing projects, defense, quizzes, major exams..
I guess im back in being a non-pro blogger ( hehehe..) its indeed nice to be back to a thing I know I love the most, and worth doing and time spenting...

after almost 2 months of not even looking at my very blog, I feel so damned and uncomfortable..
the moment I took a glance on it, It was like I was looking at my own long lost friend, wearing a very ragged clothes and just not very pleasant looking... I felt so guilty about it.

Lets not take flashbacks... the good thing is, im here... (hehehe...)

Filipinos have a wide range of customs and traditions on celebrating christmas, As a matter of fact, We celebrate christmas season the longest in the world, starting on the first day of September and ending on the last weeks of December. (isnt that great?)

The story of Christmas in the Philippines began centuries ago, when Spanish conquistadors landed on our shores in 1521. soon enough, the friars who came with them, full of missionary zeal, christianized the natives. But it was only in 1525, during the rule of conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legaspi that the Feast of the Nativity was officially celebrated. A historical account narrates that, sometime in the early 14th century, the Franciscan priest Odoric from Italy celebrated the first Christmas Mass along the shores of Lingayen, Pangasinan. The feast of Christmas was easily assimilated by the newly-converted natives, as the yuletide season coincided with their annual harvest time when thanksgiving was offered to their gods and ancestors. The result was a melding of Catholic beliefs with indigenous rituals.

Today, as Paskong Pinoy tradition has it, Christmas is in the air the minute the first “ber” month (September) arrives. Displays of Christmas Cards, tree ornaments, and lights suddenly spring up in retail outlets in record bars, shopping malls, restaurants, and even jeepneys careening along the streets. Christmas bazaars offering every kind of merchandise imaginable become standard weekend destinations. This goes on, with increasing fervor and insistence, through October and November.

Only then does the Church-prescribed Christmas liturgical season begin. It lasts 22 days, beginning on December 16 with the first dawn Mass – also called Simbang Gabi – and ending of the “Feast of the Three Kings” in January.

Within this month-long period, the Filipino penchant for fiesta comes to the fore. Rural barrios come alive with processions and parades, perfect excuses for decking the whole town in lights and Christmas trimming, and dressing up in one’s finery. One favorite procession, called the Panunuluyan, reenacts the search of Mary and Joseph for lodging in Bethlehem. This, like most Philippine folk traditions, thinks nothing of combining the religious with the patriotic, and exercising poetic license with Biblical stories and characters for the mere spectacle and enjoyment of it.

On Christmas Eve, everyone awaits the midnight Misa de Aguinaldo (“Gift Mass”) followed by the most important repast of the year, the Noche Buena. At this feast, family members savor yuletide favorites like hamon (ham), queso de bola (ripened ball cheese), relleno (stuffed chicken), castañas (roasted chestnuts), fruitcake, and fresh fruits. On this night, the Andalucian couplet holds true, “Esta noche es noche Buena, y no es noche para dormir.” (“This night is a good night, and not a night for sleeping.”)

December 25th is also known as Pasko ng Mga Bata (“Children’s Christmas”) for obvious reasons. It is also the day the little ones visit their godparents (Ninong and Ninang) and kiss the back of their hands in greeting, expecting gifts and other treats in return.

Ahhh… Christmas without end! That’s the way Pinoys like it.

It is only when the Lenten season begins in march that the Filipino finally tucks Christmas away. To storage boxes at last go the wreaths, the angels, and the lights. But the memory of Christmas – the family togetherness, the feasting, the gift-giving, the birth of the Christ Child that gives it all meaning – lingers until (you guessed it!) It’s time for Paskong Pinoy all over again.

LLI's 2oth anniversary was a success. Showing the great bonds of all the people surrounds it, and the humble beginnings of the people who takes part in establishing its foundation. I am not aware before that LLI already conquered 20 years of helping, sharing and giving opportunities to many youths in Lubang and Looc. Opportunities to establish their futures, realize their dreams and aspirations and most importantly a opportunity to be part of such wonderful international organization or could I say "a one big happy family". With the undying and consistent support and hard work of the LLI Officers both in the alumna's and the Undergraduates through the leadership of "her Excellency- Madamme President Frecille Martinez and Eduardo Rigaralde, and with the continous help of 2 great persons that LLI should be proud of, Jay-R Ibong and Mark Cortez. LLI's 20th anniversary celebration became another great bonding experience in me as well as the other scholars and the Alumna's held at The Great Eastern Hotel in Makati last November 10, 2007. We all went home with a smile on our faces and some other memories that I know we will treasure for the rest of our life. Another two thumbs up for LLI... May god Bless us... God bless LLI.

Blogging was relatively like a man talking to a wall!

Yesterday, Ive happened to read about an article in the newspaper specifically Manila Bulletin discussing mainly about "Blogging as an Industry and a hobby"...very interesting on my part, since I was a non-pro blogger.
My eyes was suddenly captured by a qouted statement which says "BLOGGING WAS RELATIVELY LIKE A MAN TALKING TO A WALL". I was stunned for a while and find myself hearing the statements, repeating into my head. After that, I just smiled and whisper, "Damn true!"
Blogging was not an easy business nor a hobby! Base on my experience as a... almost 3 months blogger. As a blogger you always have to be motivated to write whatever interest you and could interest your possible readers, if you have any. I almost decided to step out of this blogging thing. I said to myself, why waste my time, effort and money in such activity that no one pays attention? I left my blog for about 1 to 2 months... but I decided to came back. The moment I opened my blog, Ive seen several comments on my shout box and I felt very happy.. since then I decided to continue blogging..to contiue what Ive started. And in my point of view, this is one of the things I should be proud of.
Eventhough bloggers faces struggles such as this matters on their pioneer years, there is also a positive side about it, and you could feel the overwhelming fulfillment it gives you as an aspiring writer, or as a person.

Enrollment Burden..

Again here’s the same old problems which every student of PhilSCA is experiencing; A Stressful Enrollment. Though a little development was made, for me it i not still the ideal enrollment, we, the students were looking forward to. The long line in front of different departments was such an endless burden for the students every semester opening but of course I have to suffer for it because it is essential for the pursuance of my enrollment. Add the late releasing of class cards which is exercised by some teachers which is making the situation worse. I mean, what’s the point of releasing the class cards late? In my point of view, if you really love or care for your students, or simply if you want your student to be responsible, you should exercise it in the first place. This problem must be solve as soon as possible.

Late Night Drive!

Jerry was driving home late one night when he saw a young lady waiting by a bus stop. He stopped his car and told her that he didn't think the buses were running so late at night and offered her a ride. The fall night air was getting chilly, so he took off his jacket and gave it to her. Jerry found out that the girl's name was Mary and she was on her way home.After an hours drive, they arrived at her home and he dropped her off by the front door. Jerry said goodnight and went home himself.The next day he remembered that Mary still had his jacket.He drove to her house and knocked on the door, an old woman answered.John told her about the ride he had given her daughter Mary, and had come back to get the jacket he had lent her. The old woman looked very confused.John noticed a picture of Mary on the fireplace mantel. He pointed to it and told the old woman that that was the girl he had given a ride to.With her voice shaking, the old woman told Jerry that her daughter had been dead for many years and was buried in a cemetery about an hours drive away from there.Jerry ran to his car and drove to the cemetery.... He found his jacket, neatly folded on top of a grave...the name on the gravestone was Mary!

Since then I was thinking of permanently stepping out on the blogging industry due to many reasons which i had stated a while ago... schoolworks, hectic schedule as well as the orgs. Im into.

Chicosci colored PhilsCA in Red

Chicosci.... hmmm...

I really cant believe that I was just a few meters away to this people performing at my very front(wheeww) . It feels really great and exciting. The crowd, most especially the girls, gone wild as the band made their entrance to the historic stage of PhilSCA. Yes, indeed . They did it again with their unstoppable catchy beats of post pop music, some of my personal Favorites are "The vampire social Club", "Seven Black Roses", "Paris", and many other, and they performed it live during the event. This rock teen icon rocked and shaked PhilsCA at the "Press to Play, PhilsCA Battle of the Bands" last 3rd week of August.
Chicosci" is short for Chico Science. They were first named Chico Science in homage to the Brazilian musician of same name. They later shortened this to Chicosci in order to avoid confusion with the Brazilian artist.
What started out as a group of young college kids from the Ateneo de Manila University, Chicosci was originally composed of Miguel Chavez, Mong Alcaraz, Carlos Calderon, and Joel Salvador. The four enjoyed playing together so much that they decided to take their music seriously by recruiting guitarist Sonny Baquisal and long-time friend Eugene Esquivias to solidify the songwriting process. Chicosci won an interschool Battle of the Bands and spent the prize money in recording a demo - an investment that landed them a two-album record deal with EMI-Virgin Philippines. The band released the albums Revenge of the Giant Robot (2000) and Method of Breathing (2002). Hope theres more! two thumbs up!

My freaky yet historic freshman year at PhilSCA

The first time i enter current school which is no other than the Philippines State College of Aeronautics. I felt the weirdest and wildest feeling a freshman could ever feel. I find myself looking like an Idiot taking my historic steps through its corridor , walking endlessly but doesnt have a particular place to go. Where should i go? What time is it? What will I do? Should I talk to someone? Some of the freaky questions lingering in my confused yet nerve mind. As I look at my watch, it reads 11:53, just 7 minuites before my very first class session in college (isnt it memorable and exiting?). I took a deep breath and a sigh of relief. I took my "reg form" (registration form) off my bag. "Where is my room?" , Room 13 "there you have it". I start searching room by room and finally found it. The room is unattended (Damn!..) I check again for the time, its 11:57. I decided to patiently wait and stay calm. Finally some of my "classmates " arrived. Minuites and minuites passed by... I took a 360 view at my classroom there are 30 of ours inside i supposed. The hollow yet silent room was now filled with murmur and little noises. But, i choosed to stay silent. I am naturally doing this during the start of classes, I dont know but, my silence could last for couple of days, or weeks maybe. As day, weeks passed ive met a lot of people, and my silence is beginning to unzipped. Ive met different peoples of differrent classes... a emo, a rocker, a kikay, a joker, a cute, a shy type and hilarious which dominated the classroom. ive started being friend to them. Hmmmmm......!!! time passed rapidly and i am now a sophomore (would you believe it?), (sigh...) A year of problems , pressures , challenges had passed. And I know I will encounter a lot more in the future,so what?... With all my friends beside me, supporting, trusting, helping me through the way... let them come... hehe...
